DISNEY BOARDS FURTHER SOUTH PRODUCTIONS’ ‘QUEENIE’

Disney Studios takes global rights for Queenie across its streaming platforms via their Onyx Collective unit.

Queenie was commissioned by Channel 4 in 2021 and will air on C4 in the UK and Ireland. The show will also stream exclusively on Hulu in the US, Star+ in Latin America and Disney+ in all other territories. 

It was recently announced that Dionne Brown would be undertaking the title role, with the ensemble cast including Samuel Adewunmi, Bellah, Sally Phillips, Jon Pointing, Tilly Keeper, Llewella Gideon, Michelle Greenidge, Cristale De’Abreu, Elisha Applebaum and Mim Shaik.

The show is currently in production, filming in South London. Further South’s Steve November and Sarah Conroy are Executive Producers for the project, alongside Candice Carty-Williams as showrunner and Lisa Walters as co-executive producer and series producer.
